Steve Jobs keynote brought to us what we already knew - new iPhone with 3G support. As we can hear from mr Jobs the new iPhone will completely swap the old iPhone models and customers who purchased a 2.5G iPhone on or after May 27 and want to swap it out for a new iPhone will be able to do so without incurring an additional handset charge for the new device. Now about the specs - thinner edges, full plastic back, flush headphone jack, and the iPhone 2.0 firmware, battery good for 8-10 hours of 2G talk, 5 hours of 3G talk, 7 hours of video and 24 hours of audio. Integrated A-GPS, WiFi, UMTS / HSDPA, GSM / EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR and much more. The Apple claims iPhone 3G speeds completely trounce the competition, with pageloads 36% faster than the N95 and Treo 750 for example. The official release is scheduled for July 11th in 22 countries and rest 70 countries till the end of the year. Expected prices are $199 for black 8GB and 16GB for $299 in black or white.
